In the 8g?
A single 20w 6500k cfl. No reflector. The inside of the hood is painted white though. Ferts rarely. Maybe leaf zone once a month if lucky. Weekly 50% water changes. Only plants are moss and needle leaf java fern. Fairly indestructible. :)

What kind of moss? It's pretty.

My 362 day old tank just after lights turned on.
Moving I 90 gallon on birthday. :)

Hi, I have just joined this forum and added my profile plus some photos of my aquarium. I have a Juwel vision 260 Litre (about 65 gallon) which I have been running for 4 months now and have community fish as well as 3 discus fish. This is also the first time for me in keeping and maintaining a well-planted aquarium. All I use to keep the plants alive is nutrient based substrate with fertilizer, liquid Co2 (seachem flourish excel) and existing lighting (2 x 54W T5).

Here are my first pics. Let me know what you think. Any suggestions on making it look even better or questions are welcome.

Check out my profile for details on all fish and plants I have in this aquarium.

That's simply beautiful!! I love the discus and all the plants! I have a plant question- what is a good fast growing plant that stays medium sized that I could plant to help take care of my very high nitrates (40-80ppm)? I have a 5 gallon fluval with a gourami. Also a pond guppy my daughter brought home from school. I have planted some Rotala Indica, a type of java fern, and some lemon Bacopa.

Thanks! I know from my own java ferns that are doing very well for a while now and don't need strong light. Not sure what plants are ideal for reducing high nitrate though. Maybe someone else out there might know?
