I don't think that fish is 2 feet long. I would guess more a foot maybe. Look at the body structure to me looks just like a black lancer. Would be easier to tell with a better pic and a way to reference it's size.

As you say, it could be a deceptive pic, but the dorsal and caudal fins don't look right for a lancer. My first thought was an Asian upside down fish, but I don't know....

I will try and get a better pic.. i looked up some pics and it looked like some type they call a shark catfish?? Ive never seen one so big my friend just received the fish about a week ago from a man who was moving..
