Hey, guys I am a big fan of predatory fish in both salt water and fresh water. Right now I have a 125 and a 55 gal. my 125 has an Oscar and a Clown Knife Fish both juvies and my 55 has an Alligator gar(a baby mind you) that is in quarantine and gonna stay there for about a week before he goes into my 125 and transfered to my future 220. Heres a few shots. All future monsters.

55 Gallon- Empty
125 Gallon- CKF and Tiger Oscar
220 Gallon- To come...

That's a nice clown knife . Haven't been able to get my hands on one yet . Here are my alligator gars . Had them for over a year now

Not sure about the volume . It's about 9 ft x 9ft and about 1ft deep .

Thanks :) . That alligator gar in your pic . It's a little blurry but is that black line running down the length of his body ? If so it may be a young spotted gar and not an alligator gar, maybe even a long nosed gar.

It is ill have to check it out but the people at the lfs were pretty savvy about fish and were talking about the other types of gar.

Wow those are wonderful fish! Im so jealous wowww!! How big is your tank?! And btw it is a spotted gar youbwere right. Doesnt bother me too much as they grow to about the same size :)

Huge difference between spotted and alligator gar. It's a good thing though, alligator gar really don't belong in aquaria or even modest sized ponds.

Yeah definitely, but i meant an alligator gar in captivity will grow much less due to the restricted ammounts of space. Although the average size of 25 to 44 inches of a spotted gar is much more satisfiying than the 60+ of the alligator!

More than size . I'd say they look better than alligator gar too . Beautiful pattern when they get older .

They are native to here so subtropical temps seem fine. They are doing ok outside even in the 30s, just not doing a lot whole lot obviously.
