10 gallon glass tank for filter

Hi all,

I have a 29 gallon tank that I am setting up. I would like to take a 10 gallon tank(will just fit in the stand) and set up a filter/sump.

I have seen a couple of designs using acrylic dividers that are held in with silicone. I have read on here that silicone will not hold acrylic to glass very well.

Is there a way to do this simpler. I will not use a skimmer that big either Some kind of filter medium would be needed too. I might have [acronym:da35da3ec8="Live rock"]LR[/acronym:da35da3ec8] at some point but not sure when.

Any tips or links to write ups. More detailed the better. Something other than a 10 gallon tank would be ok too as long as it fit under the tank. The 10 [acronym:da35da3ec8="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:da35da3ec8] tank has to be stood up to fit in the door.

using something like smaller buckets, bins, etc, inside the sump can serve the same purpose as a baffle, without needing to glue any walls or anything like that.

for a glass tank, using standard 1/8th glass from a glass store will work, and you can glue them in using plain silcone and have a good strong bond, the only critcal piece is having the glass cut to the right size so it's a tight fit.
