Well kinda... I lost some rock face to attach coral to, but I gain a viewing window into an entirely different world. I'm pretty happy with the amount of rock space I have. Lots of nooks n cranys to fill. Plus, since I made my rock, it's a 1 inch wall verses a 10 inch chunk of rock. Relatively the same surface area, just stretched out. I can hardly wait to put critters in it! I was thinking maybe dwarf sea horses in my little world within a world within my house...

Google "oystercrete". I got crushed oyster shell from a feed store and mixed it with a high polymer cement. You have to work quick with this stuff cause it starts to set it 1-2 minutes. I also mixed in some aragonite and a lil epsom salt for magnesium. I was going to try to make it a lil more porous by adding finely chopped foam, but I didn't like the look of it. I couldn't get the foam chopped small enough and it had jagged edges. Maybe next time, I'll try getting the foam wet and throwing it in a food processor? I had fun experimenting with it. The recipe isn't perfected yet.

It's almost ready to go live! The ph is about 9.5. Down from 14. I think I'm gonna drain it one last time and set it up for real tomorrow.

Parameters are lookin good! Gonna keep testing for a week or two before I add fish. Right now it's just a few macro algae and 3 hermit crabs. ...I can't post direct photos any more. Guess I hit my limit.

Patience...

Here are some critters...

And I still have more frags in the sand to glue.

Never mind the dangly in the back. It's just an airstone that I run at night. Going to put one in the sand eventually. Running a sponge and 1/2 chemi-pure in each side and that's it. Using 2 100w daylight bulbs and 3 blue party lights. Growing some macro algae, lps, a leather, a kenya, some rics, and some zoas. Everything is flourishing and I've had a few awesome color morphs.
Also fish: a pair of clowns, a blenny, and two female leopard wrasses. I think one is starting to turn into a male. Oh, and a kelp crab. Not bad for my very first saltwater tank.
