Hello, I was wondering you you would be so kind to point me in the right direction to find, or tell me a good design for a hood for my 75gal saltwater tank. Also I'm planning on running 2 250 watt Mh in the hood and I was told to keep them at least 12" off the water is this correct? Any other comments are welcome. Thanks for your help.

Some MH fixtures look nice enough you don't really need a hood. Just put some "egg crate" light diffuser down to keep jumpers in, and hang the MH lights above, or rest them on little legs.

My current light hood is just a plywood box with the lights mounted inside.

That is the one I designed and have over my 75G. All frame peices are 1x2 pine (60cents for 8')

The front slides up and is held in place by 2 outside corner molds.

Yes, it was designed for a Fluva 304 and a Tetra Whisper 60, I don't use the whusper 60 anymore.. but the sizes of the openings can be adapted.
