alter the lid on my juwel rekford 800

i brought this tank for very cheap with stand. it didnt have the filter with it so im going to have to buy one. i do t really want a internal one and the lid on this tank has a little channel on the back right corner.

I want to get a HOB filter or a external filter. but my lid hasnt got cut out for it

Has anyone else had this problem? if so could you show me pictures of your work.

I need help with this because i dont really want to put an internal one if if i can help it and i cant find help on google.

I have the same tank but with the proper juwel internal filter, ive been considering going external, and i was to to it i would just cut channels in the rear of lid the appropriate piping to go through shouldn't be to much of a big deal tbh and would still look neat and inkeeping

yh. thats what i thought. ill just cut a channel out with a coping saw.
