basic diy question

if you have a drilled tank and say a corner wier, if you use fine filter media does it remove the nedd for a skimme? as i understand it a skimmer is to clear the surface level of water so the weir should do this right?

If your feeding a protien skimmer from your weir you dont want to filter the water in any way, the protien skimmer should do a fine job of that.. Im assuming this is for a [acronym:63a96fb1c7="Saltwater"]SW[/acronym:63a96fb1c7] project.. [acronym:63a96fb1c7="Hope this helps (or) Happy to help"]HTH[/acronym:63a96fb1c7]

Protien floats to the surfase of the water.. the weir draws that water out of the tank then the protien skimmer removes the protien from the water.. [acronym:7243bfd4b9="Hope this helps (or) Happy to help"]HTH[/acronym:7243bfd4b9]
