Funny thought, I bought some blue LED christmas lights that I am going to try to make into a strip. cost 7 bucks. Any thoughts as to if this is a good idea or not?

I somehow missed the christmas post! LOL! I will post a pic of mine shortly!

Those are so bright. Looks really good. Do you know how much power they use? I guess I am asking if they are the high output leds? I am going to switch my biocube to all leds. Just gathering info. My friend owns a lfs and is testing anemones and hard and soft corals under the HO LED lights. Research shows they are as bright as mh. But I want some else to try it first.

The picture makes it seem brighter, I can barely see the substrate.
I need a new camera.

I am using the HO led set that is now selling at Ace Hardware, Each pod has 2.5watts output. They are in white so I fitted each, I an using 2, with a blue lense off a pair of those noval Sunglasses.
Blue leds for night lights are just for mood lights anyway.
