Building a filter out of my sump

Ok, I have decided to set up my 280g as Freshwater for now Sorry Guys! I know... I wish I was doing a reef, but I have to master my 100g reef first.
Plus my freshwater fish have grown so huge they don't really have a lot of room to swim in there current tank, So they are getting a nice new home!

My question is I want to make a huge filter out of my 110g sump.

I have been looking a lot online and I havent yet come up with a really good Plan yet.. I think I am over thinking or something.

Any Ideas?

I think your over thinking it with all that a sump has to offer i dont understand why more freshys dont use them JMHO All it really is is a place to hide the filter, heater and other stuff clamp a small light on it and grow plants in there it will help with trates
