I am considering upgrading my 20H tank from just 65 watts to something more.

I currently have the 24" 65 watt coralife light fixture. Would it be possible for me to rip this thing out of its encasing so that I might retrofit it into a canopy.

If i do this i plan on purchasing a 65 watt retro kit to bring me to 130 watts or maybe adding some t5ho's in addition to my cf.

Im just wondering if I can remove my current light from its fixture and have it over my tank safely.

Sure! Just make sure the new mounting has comperable grounding to the old one.

Do you have some basic electrial skills?
