canopy wood

Hi all,

We built a canopy with some 2x6 pine. We test fitted it and put 2 2x6 pieces on either side of the light. The light is in the middle for access.

Anyway, we never got around to painting it yet and after 2 weeks, the 2 boards on top have warped. Our stand is made of pine and MDF and was painted with spray paint. I planned on painting the canopy the same way but it looks like I need to seal it for moisture. Any good way to do this and have it still match the color of the stand?

You could probably use a flat polyurathane after you have panted the wood and that should both seal the wood and with it being flat it should not color it up much.
