co2 generator into canister filter

I have just made a 3 liter co2 gen, it works really well putting out 1 bubble per second. I have not used co2 before and need some advise. A lot of people seem to be letting the bubbles go into a canister filter to be diffused. Anybody have an arguement against this? Its a Fluval 305

That is a good way to diffuse CO2. It will work out fine.

Thanks, Do you know much about co2 and PH? I was thinking of more cacium carbonate lava rock to keep a balance.

The more CO2, the lower your Ph. You can try the lava rock, but what I've found to be best is running about 1-2cm of crushed coral in the filter itself to buffer against the ph drop from the co2.

Whats your KH? if you have a high KH to begin with (>9 dKH) you won't see a measurable drop in pH based on that amount of CO2. Now if your dKH is 2 or 3, you may want to buffer your water.
