is there a program thats really easy to use to use to build my builds. just to get a basic look. paint is to basic and cad is to much. looking for a program i can download to use.

I've started messing with Sketchup too. It's not nearly as nice as the CAD programs I'm used to, but it's free and beggars can't be choosers.

I also used SketchUp! when I was in the planning stages of building my stand. It is not as precise as AutoCAD or any of those but... you get what you pay for, ie. nothing.

Ha, ANY computer can lose data. You MUST use a Mac!

Both sketchup and pencil and paper are two very good ideas. I personally love CAD programs, and use them to design just about anything I'm building. However, I always draw it first.

I used Visio also. Laid out my plumbing flows too.

I have used Cad Standard. it is free and works pretty good for blueprinting. CadStd - Cad Standard Lite freeware and inexpensive Pro software.
