convert shop light to better light for reef tank - Aquarium Advice

im in the process of cyclying my tank now id like to use a shop light setup i allreay have .. 48 in long 40w mecanical balast t12 and convert it to something sutilebe for my tanks needs or maby and another light to have 4 bulbs 2 fixtures.. anyone have suggesitons or have done soething liek this? thanks

Well aside from using a ton of florecent bulbs over the tank you would need to replace the ballast and endcaps so you could drive [acronym:426e3d6bcf="Very high output fluorescent"]VHO[/acronym:426e3d6bcf] or Powercompact or T5 bulbs.
