Use half of a PVC pipe, put a coating of silicone on the top, and put some the substrate of your tank on it. Place it on an angle or just on top and it will look like a cave.

You can make one out of slate pieces, glued together with an aquarium-safe silicone. The PVC, as described above, does a good job. You can use flower pots or strawberry planters, whole or broken (as long as you treat the edges so the fish dont cut themselves).

Ya the flower pot does a great job. Especially with breeding German blue rams. They lay their eggs in it.
