Curing cement bg

I have been spraying down my
Cement background twice a day for the last two weeks. Would this help limit the amount of water changes I would have to go thru? I am thinking this would cure and harden the cement but I don't know if it also helps displace all the lime and ph rising chemicals???
Thanks
