Design for a 55gal/20gal stand(UPDATE w/pics!!)
It's a little different, but if I want to have the 20gal at a decent height for viewing AND have my Filstar XP3 filter in the same stand, this is the only way it will all fit. The stand is 49" long, 13" deep, and 42" tall. I like asymetrical furniture, so that influenced the design as well.
The attatched picture is just the structure(all 2x4's). (this changed greatly after I started building) |

OK, here are a few more pics.
I made a mess! ![]() ![]() Hinges- ![]() Color of the stain- ![]() Here is the revised structure- ![]() Here are the tools I have used so far ![]() Man I'm pooped. I still have to attach another door, put on some molding to hide the ugliness, stain the whole thing 2 times, and put a few layers of polycrylic on it. Total cost, around $150. Not including the new tools I just HAD to have. |
