I recently set up a 55 gal tank in my office with my filters and air pump in an adjacent room. I thought I would finally be rid of air pump noise, but I was wrong! Ever notice how much quieter your air pump is when you connect a hose to it? Thats because all that noise is going into your tank! My office had noisy air pump noise that was entering the tank via the air hose. I wonder what the fish think of this? well, if an automobile can be muffled, an air pump can have one too.
