Diy background

I want/need a cheap background for my new 37 gallon. I've seen tanks with solid black backgrounds and I like the way they look. Soo does anyone know if black poster board would look alright. Painting my tank is not a possibility

You could get black wrapping paper. That way it has a shiny texture.

Maybe see if there is canvas paper to the same dementions of your tank. Then paint it black with acrylic paint?
