DIY Bowfront Stand

I saw some posts in the forum about [acronym:7a91e03fc6="Do it yourself"]DIY[/acronym:7a91e03fc6] bowfront hoods (very useful, [acronym:7a91e03fc6="By the way"]BTW[/acronym:7a91e03fc6]), but I didn't see any for stands. Any advice or experience in making bowfront stands?

Thanks.

Well, I made the last bow hood posted on here I think. I would probably start the same way. Trace the bow of the tank on a piece of ply to make a jig/template. I would cut the top and bottom then build the frame to support the weight and then finish it with a nice ply skin.

I understand the basics, of course, so maybe I just need to simplify the question. If I have a plywood base to match the tank, the support thereof could be the traditional "rectangular" base because of weight distribution and the bowed part would be fine?

Yeah, the OEM stands are much that way with one addtional vertical support centered in from of the "bow" usuallt the divider for the doors.
