DIY canister filter for nano

Yeah I got ya, I was wondering about the die off of the rock because even in simi-transparent or clear plastic it wouldn't much light at all.

You know I could build chambers or tanks, a canister which is clear plastic like the lock'n'lock and put some cheato in that?

that would probably work better (and quicker, as far as organic filtration is concerned)but the PVC will be at least cheaper. send pics when your finished.

I wonder how one of these would work as a container.
It already has a hose attached to one side...
And it's meant to handle pressure.
And it's semi transparent.

A pump.. another hose.......

Something like that might work, would have to be brand new however but your right it's got the holes and can take a lot of presure

I just thought it would be interesting.
I was looking for something to build a canister with a few months back.
And couldn't think of anything.

One of these just popped in my brain today.

Definitely new.

But now I am not so sure that everything would fit inside that needs to. (through the lid)

You would have to drop it in, and hope for the best
