DIY Co2 Reactor

What end should I have the Co2 input be on bottom/top? I can flip it both ways but have seen some keep it on the top where the water input is and some on the bottom as it exits the reactor.

co2 in top like Brooks pic(Nice)IMO.
It is dragged down onto water column(hopefully being absorbed) before going out bottom.
What size pump and how do you plan to control co2?
 
Pump is either going to be in line with a Fluval 406 which is 300 something GPH or an Aqueon 4500 which is 1189 GPH.

That's the Aqueon 4500 set up.
I posted about its set up in another post on here.
 
Did you use cpvc cement on the gray pipe? I've had issues there..

I used the sealant for re-sealing aquariums(silicone). Didn't put it on the threads. Only made the seal on the outermost part of the gray pipe
