DIY hood for 30 gallon - Aquarium Advice

I am getting [acronym:d957be5bdc="Power compact fluorescent"]PC[/acronym:d957be5bdc]'s from pet supply liquidators and I am making a hood for them. It turned out better than I expected. I basically made a box and fit the lid so it rested inside the box with hinges and a piece of would to hold the front up. I am not sure if i should put any sort of fans inside though. Any thoughts?? Pics below Will post more pics later when totally finished.
