DIY hood wiring
This has been my first big [acronym:dd553948e6="Do it yourself"]DIY[/acronym:dd553948e6] project. The hood is for a 20g long. I just completed it today, not painted or anything yet. Its made out of 1x4s and a 1x6. I used a hand saw and a protractor

yes. Just be sure the splice is water tight so condensation doesn't build up and cause a short.

well, in my opinion..
if the lamp cord has 2 prongs on the end, and the shoplight has 3 prongs (most do) then no you couldn't, instead you should splice a 3prong cord to the shoplight so to keep the ground in good working order, or fire could result if something goes wrong later down the road. |
