DIY LED Light 40 gallon breeder

Im going tomorrow to buy a 40 gallon breeder from Petco ($1 a gallon sale) I already have 2 Aqueon 50 filters and the substrates for it. Im building my stand and thinking about building a canopy and doing a DIY led set up.

Im wanting to go planted on this tank so ill need high watt leds. Id like to hear from people that has done this and/or have links to sites to order the materials needed to do this.

Next question I have is if it would be cheaper to buy a t5 light fixture from like Lowes and use it. I know it woild be easier.

I jumped straight from a t8 fixture on my 29 gallon to a current 24in led fixture and I love the looks of leds along with the adjustments my light bar offers.

All suggestions are welcome

Thank you,
Brandt

Finished the fabrication of my stand, it is a little taller than I wanted but I think it will be ok after I build the canopy. Will be painting it tomorrow after I finish sanding it down

Well after many hours of searching and digging I have yet to find what info I have wanted for a DIY led set up. What info I did put together, I have found I can get 2 of these Current Trulumen LED Bars ( http://youtu.be/S5uZ_IC5eSA)
for the price of what I could order my drivers/leds/and dimmer switches off ebay. Given that is at my hookup with my local dealer

I've found that with planted tanks it's more cost effective to buy the light premade. Look into beams work or finnex. Are you wanting to go for high light plants?
