I just got a Hexagon Aqua Scape 8 gallon tank for free but it has no light in the canopy. Apparently the guy that gave it to me tried a few different options without much success. He said they were either too hot and bubbled the canopy (i wouldn't have known it if he hadn't said anything) or just wasn't bright enough to look good.

So, here is my project, find a light source (on the cheap) that will fit into a hexagon hood that is 13" wide at its widest and 6 3/4" on each side and is 2 3/4 usable inches deep.

I don't supposed that I could just go down to Home Depot and get a light socket and a screw in compact fluorescent and just crazy glue it to the top right ;)

Anyway, just wondering if any of you had any experience with this sort of stuff.

Thanks in advance

given its dimensions, I am doing a fish only tank. Probably fresh water but may try my hand at salt water with a damsel or two.
