DIY live rock question

Has anybody tried the cement and oyster shell mix. Was reading some stuff on it today. To make the shapes they were using wet sand in a rubbermaid carve out the shape and pour the mixture in and set for 2 days. Then it was soaked in freshwater for 6 to 8 weeks to neturalize the PH. Changing the water out every few days. After the 5 week period started testing the PH. Then slowly adding the rock to a reef tank. Has anybody tried this? Here is the link click I think I am going to try it. Scroll down to the title "Using Cement to make Live Rock in Creative Shapes."
