DIY Spraybar for Fluval 405 on a 56g Column

Hey guys,

The current produced by my Fluval 405's output was just too much, so I decided to build a forked spray bar. I didn't want super concentrated jets coming out of it, which is why it's an upper and lower bar. Still provides plenty of surface agitation, as you'll see below. Pics & video time!

(I misspoke in the video and said 1/2" PVC, but it's 3/4")

Video up!

How do you fish react to the current split like that and it going the length of the tank?

It's hard to say. The C. guentheri have been out more since I installed it, but that could just be them becoming more comfortable in their surroundings. The Hoplos are busy exploring it and nosing the wad of Hornwort that I anchored to the lower bar.

There's definitely less bottom current on the spray bar end now than before, my Wisteria and Anacharis don't look like they're caught in a hurricane, but on the AC110 end the plants still wave around quite a bit.
