Just finished the frame on a diy stand for a 30 gallon jbj rimless. Total investment so far is 40 bucks. Was looking for critiques and some ideas on what to use on the outside and top.ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1392596184.144903.jpgImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1392596205.242068.jpgImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1392596236.695773.jpgImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1392596269.059797.jpgImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1392596293.398640.jpg

Yea the sheets I'm looking at are 22 bucks for a 4x8 foot piece. It's only .25 inches thick though so I'll need something thicker for the top

If on a budget you really don't need anything on the top since the tank will probably be covering it. As for the sides I have used wainscot panels from the big box store and they run less than $20 for a 4x8 sheet.

I made the stand 24x24 and the tank will be 24x20 so I'm going to need something on the top.

Okay then use the .25 plywood. The stand will for sure hold it!! Looks extremely sturdy

It is pretty sturdy I had 6 people sit on it weighing a little over 1200 lbs combined and the stand didn't budge

I think my plans going to be a .25 inch piece of plywood on each side with one side being completely removable. I like the idea of not having visible doors on the stand.

That sound very simple yet awesome! Like a hideaway door! It's for your fish stash!
