I dont think I'm understanding.. You can't out anything in your unit.

Chaetomorpha is probably the best macro IMO. Caulerpa has some things you need to worry about but they both do their job well.

For a fuge, I would go with Mainly live rock and Chaetomorpha. If you are willin to give up about 6" of height in your fuge, do a deep sand bed with aragonite sand.

I disagree on a deep sand bed. It will make detritus clean up more difficult and give critters more places to hide. I go bare bottom with cheato and other macro algae and as much lr you can fit.

The cool think about live rock rubble is you can use It as a frag plug when you need to propagate. I also throw my ceramic plugs down there.
