Dreams do come true! - Aquarium Advice

I always wanted a tank in the wall, so when we bought our new house several years ago I decided to go for it.

My basement was a skeleton and was a perfect candidate for the project.

Although I never worked with sheet rock before It was pretty easy once I got started.

My main concern was the levelness of the stand and it was checked and re-checked several times.

I found this stainless steel shelve at a motel that was being leveled and built the trim work around it.

This glass was free also so I built a bar around it.

Many hours are enjoyed in the basement and looking back on this project if I did it again I would probably go for a larger tank!

This is looking through the tank into the fish room. The main tank is a 135 gallon Oceanic with a 75 gallon sump. One magnum 350 for top water circulation and filtration, an Ehiem filter / pump for the sump to the tank, with factory overflows.

The tanks in the background are 37.5 gallon homemade tanks and I grow plants in them.

Its a great hobby and to think it all started with a 29 gallon tank!

Wow! Awesome project and it looks amazing! I like the the concept of adding the bar in there too.

Looks great

Only thing that would have made it better is it you put a reef in there. Haha.

If it wasn't for my sales job and having to travel, it would certainly be a reef!

That is awesome! I love the wood floor and of course the bar...I agree w/Lindsay, reef would have been super cool! LOL!

Wow. Incredible. Some day housing prices will drop in California and I'll be able to buy a house bigger than a 100 gallon fish tank for less than half a million dollars. Then I will put a fish tank in it.
