what kind of wood can you use I have branchs of cotton wood and big leaf maple that are barkless and all dried up can I use these in my angel tank
if so how do I treat them

They have to be a hardwood firstly anything else will rot
If they're no longer green then simply to treat them, boil for an hour, change water. If they release tannins and the water goes dark like syrup or coffee then keep on boiling them and changing out the water. It also works well if just Soak them in dechlorinised water but boiling is the quickest method.
