I am having problems with my cartridges clogging to the point where water is almost flowing out of the housing. I only feed once e every other day and clean it once per week in aq water. Has anyone else had this problem?

You might just need a new filter or a bigger system.

I thought of a larger HOB but this tank is only a 29g. I am trying to run the cartridges as long as possible and this one was less than four weeks old.

I changed my first cartridge in about 2 weeks, but that was due to the filter clearing up the sand in my tank. The box also recommends changed the cartridge every 2-4 weeks. Maybe its not the filters, but your impeller is kind of stuck.
