I read in a book you can feed your gold fish oats to keep it from getting constipated.

Oats are not a wise idea. They are very high in complex carbs & blow up & get sticky- not good for goldfish digestion. Lots of fresh, cooked plain green veggies are a much healthier & safer option to aid in digestion.
