GE 100% pure clear silicone

Is it safe for fishys?? It doesn't say either way on the back of the tube. ANyone tried using this on their tanks>>?? I wouldn't want to try and be sorry later. Are there any other hardware store brands I could look for?? Im having a hard time finding the actual "aquarium" silicone in my small town. Thanks.

well. it does say on either 1 or 2 you shouldnt use it in your fish tank. but i think thats just for legal stuff. as long as its 100% silicone and isnt mold resistant or something like that i think thats the "safe" stuff. i have some, but i havent erally tried it out.

I've used GE Silicone #1 (Window and Door) without a problem. Silicone II is for tub and tile. If I am not mistaken, Silicone II is marketed as mildew-resistant, which will be lethal to fish.

GE Silicone #1 has never killed any of my fish. Used it to make 2 baby tanks and they lived for months.
