Going to build a Garf Stand this weekend.
I'm going to go down and price the lumber, and if its affordable to my pocketbook, buy and build myself a garf stand [ 30inches tall, 32 inches long, 14 inches deep ]
My main question is, however.. When building this. Do I use the 2x4 boards on edge, or flat? I've read the garf plans, but I there are some things I still don't quite understand. Like the fastening of the boards, as well. Do I lay them on top of the uprights and screw them that way, or do I just screw the flat faces together? I really want to set my 29gal up on a stand, Cause.. quite frankly, Its begining to get in my way on my computer desk, and quite frankly I am not to comfortable with it for other reasons as well [ I'm afraid to say it aloud, i'm sure you all know what my fear is ], even tho it has been on my desk since I've had it.

if your 2x4 fram is just sitton on top of the 4x4 legs, how did you securely fastend them?
I doubt a simple toenail would hole all that good.. ?

thats why i used 4x4's notcghed them out. so i would get a strong base. the base is a little more heavy, but better safe than sorry. for a 29 [acronym:5df15a7a06="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:5df15a7a06], i would just put the perpendicular 2x4 flush with the height of you vertical 2x4.
