How to: Level a tank

You level the stand so the tank is level. The tank needs to sit flat on the stand. The exact procedure depends on the type of stand and the type of floor it is on.
 
I have a 52 gal tank that wasn't quite level. I just shimmed it using wooden shims like you would a door or cabinet. Used my 6 foot leek to make sure all was level front to back and side to side. So far, so good :)
 
Not sure where you are but here in the states I grab these composite shims at Lowe's for leveling tanks. They will take up to 16,000lbs which is way more than the softer wood shims used for windows and doorways.
