Idea...filter to reactor...will it work?
OK, a friend of mine has a diatom filter. (A Vortex XL) and doesn't want it. So, I can come into a diatom filter for free, or very cheap. My question is this, would I be able to rig it up to becaome a calcium reactor? I'm almost sure that I could, but I wanted to ask all the avid DIYers out there.
While I'm at it, if it's NOT a good idea (and if you could educate me as to why not, that'd be cool), would a diatom filter come in handy? It's for a saltwater [acronym:e37e54c635="Fish only with live rock"]FOWLR[/acronym:e37e54c635] (tobe reef). Thanks! |
