In wall stand construction

Looking good!!! I have always been a fan of built in systems. One of these days I will have one too. If I didn't already have plans for the weekend I would be happy to pay you a visit and help out. :(
 
Looks like it will be nice when finished. i would have done a few things different though.

not sure about code requirements but i always thought you should use pressure treated lumber for any wood against concrete/masonry. so the bottom plate of all the walls should be pressure treated or isolated from the concrete. the wood might absorb moisture through the concrete and swell.

i probably would have built the stand that neilan linked to and attached it into the wall
you can make a cabinet door flip up and hinge just like you planned to do with the drywall. depending on how soon you need it i might be able to help you out with that.
just a few things to consider
