I recently obtained an ADF + tank from a coworker, it has a lid but no lights or anything. I was hoping to add some freshwater plants for the poor guy, but have no where to start on a light for the tank. Was thinking of using a regular screw in flourecent bulb, but I don't think just putting a fixture on the inside of the lid is exactly a good idea. The lid is plastic. Or should I ditch the lid all together and do something else?

In my three foot long tank i have a regular flourecent bulb screw in, i used an old tanle lamt to get thr fixing then i use white bulbs hope this helped!

Try finding a small LED fixture you could silicone into the lid. Depending on diameter of tank you might be able to DIY a new lid from a cap for large PVC pipe from local hardware store
