Lighting hood venting - Advice Please!

OK, so the hood looks kinda like this (refer to attached pic).
The front is the same as the back, minus the fans. Should I put slits for ventilation in the top and sides, or are the openings in the front and back on the hood sufficient? I've got a couple of large [acronym:7ad5944ca4="Power compact fluorescent"]PC[/acronym:7ad5944ca4] fans hangin' around ('cause I'm a huge dork) and I'm going to rig them up to the 300w power supply I also have hangin' around (again, for the same reason). The hood will contain 2x250w [acronym:7ad5944ca4="Metal halide light"]MH[/acronym:7ad5944ca4] and 4x96w Actinic/03s. This tank is in the basement, which is usually cool year-round. Any ideas/thoughts/suggesstions/comments, PLEASE give them!

[edit]Oh yes, and all fans are set to exhaust.[/edit]

being a guitar player, i'll be using some of the 19" vented rack panels in the top of my canopy hood when i build it. they're a painted steel, but you could just as easily paint it to match your decor. you could drop two or three of the 2-space plates in the top of your for good ventilation and a clean look. i won't be buy them online b/c i can get them at any guitar center for much cheaper....

good idea using the computer psu and case fans...if i ever need something like that, i'll definitely go with that!

Excellent idea! I could try these on the top of the hood. The front openings will be made so that it doesn't look too rough, but I don't care if it doesn't look refined. Ideally, I want a swing-open front, and I'm still designing. Thanks for the tip!
