Making dried starfish safe for aquarium ornamate

Hello all, I just picked up a dried starfish for my freshwater aquarium, but Appon research I discoverd that it will rot, makes sense. I was wondering if anyone knows of a coating that can be put on the starfish to prevent it from rotting.

you'd be better off finding an aquarium safe ornamental starfish at a pet store, even if you found a sealant that was aquarium safe the sealant would most likely detract from the appearance of the starfish, there's also the possibility that you'd also seal in enough air that the starfish would float unless weighted down
