You can make 6 ledges for under 4$. And for the last step you really have to push the plastic piece through.

You can also use aquarium safe glue, zip ties or string to attack the cup to the mesh.

Here is a ledge with Java moss. It's only a weed old. Once the moss grows fuller I'll trim it down so that it grows onto the mesh. And eventually it'll grow so full that it looks like a floating bunch of moss. If you cover the sides and back of your tank with the ledges and add some drift wood (that looks somewhat like tree branches) with moss on the ends it'll make your tank look like a canopy. IMO

That's a good idea. If you keep up with the plan, you should periodically post pics to show the progress (or comments with set backs since those can be good learning experiences too).
