Never saw one of those but I suppose its interesting...key is if you like it then who cares...seems like a good idea if your really want the lake feel.

ok, all I have to add now is a couple of fake plants around the bottom. I am finished with leeching the bad stuff from the concrete, now I am just cycling the tank. Please let me know what you think!!

please keep in mind 2 things...

1. this is going to be for cichlids, so I wanted as many nooks and crannies as I could get. I was trying to use the plants on the background to create a system of caves and hiding spots.

2. When I get some algae growth, a lot of the colors will be changing and smoothing out.

Here is a short history:

start:

added cement, driftwood and a few plants:

Added gravel and water: (the powerheads were just to add to the circulation to speed up cycling/leeching)

Added shale and a bunch more plants along the back wall:

(tried to clean up the photo, but I suck at the graphics stuff)

Please let me know your thoughts!!!

I have more pictures on my website.
