my hood - Aquarium Advice

Well, it's almost done. I just have to add the door onto it and finish it with tung oil.

Looks very nice! What type of hinge do you plan on using? Do you think brass will hold up to the salt?

you know, I haven't thought of what kind of hinge to use on the hood. I'll have to look into the reactivity of the brass in a NaCl environment. As far as the plans go, I usually do everything on the fly and they tend to work out. But I've had enough people ask me how I've done pieces of furniture that I'm now starting to draw up all of my plans in AutoCad. When I have these done I'll gladly post them.

Very Cool, Leave it to an ME major.

As for the hinges you can try stainless steel (common type is called Piano Hinge these are highly polished stainless)
