My crypts are the petsmart sealed packed ones that were in that gel. They grew nicely without melting in my 55g. However half melted when transferred to this tank. But they're growing back nicely.

There are 4 of them. Each has a rotating reflector. They work pretty decently for low light. The intensity has dropped off a little bit since I started using them last year. But the plants are still growing strong.

I still intend on upgrading to a BML or fugeray planted+. But my budget for this setup has been used up. I gotta start saving again. Hopefully by august I'll be able to make the jump.

I doubt mine will break any new ground. It will have 2 removable plastic containers leading into a partitioned 2x1x1 foot tank. I took the emergency overflow ideas into my design which was something that had not occurred to me and seeing your design connected some dots with missing numbers .

I really want a lot of different areas for various filter media which i'll be able to do easily enough. I will have a wier overflow system creating further spaces to place different media as well as the initial 2 plastic containers that are hopefully going to be a noise baffle.

The only idea of my own i had that may or may not work is to possibly eliminate the risk of a syphon starting if the return pump cuts out by making a very small hole in the return line, just below the water line ine the display tank. A siphon can start but i think that oncethe small hole is above the waterline oxgyen will enter and kill the siphon.

Anyway the tank is looking great. I can';t wait to see how the scape develops over time.

I have to go to lowes to get a plumbing check valve. With that I shouldn't need bleed hole at the top like you described. I was planning on putting something similar until I saw the pvc check valves.

Thanks for compliments.

My in wall 75 gallon planted tank

Not the greatest pic but my bristlenose Plecos decided try to have another batch babies. Hopefully they can survive in a tank with 4 Bolivian rams and an angelfish.
