With all the sump plans out there, I thought I would venture out on my own idea and came up with the diagrams below. I wont be building this for a while and am still tuning the idea but the basics are there.

Filter floss and bio balls for filtration, baffles and flow direction changes to remove bubbles and a chamber to house a submersible heater and/or other equipment.

any thoughts?

oh, I did this all in Photoshop if anybody was curious...

edit: I didnt mean to put two pics out there :)

I would have the intake at the top instead of the bottom, this will promote more movement across your bioballs and filtration media. are you using an in sump skimmer?

okay, I moved the intake and tilted the panel the other direction so I can actually clean the filter pad/floss w/o too much difficulty.

Any more comments?

Well, I am not an expert. I know little about sumps so take everything I am saying with a grain of salt.

You may want to make the sides higher that way, should the power go out, or your sump breaks, Your tank won't overflow the sump.

Does that make sense?
