When you are trying to get your water right and avoid chemicals, you have to do three things, remove chlorine, remove chloramines and remove ammonia. After doing much reading about the dangers of chemically treating water, I decided to do a simple DIY project. First I used 2 whirlpool whole house water filters with carbon inserts (these are very restrictive) next the water went into a water polisher and finally into a 24W UV
sterilizer. Once sterilized, I stored in a 32 gallon can with an air stone, power head, heater and a spout on the bottom for extraction. this gives me aged water that is fully clear of chlorine, chloramines, heavy metals and other impurities. Took about 3 hours to build once you have the parts.
