Plastic tank - From scratch

I've been donated some nice 8mm thick clear acylic sheets. Enoough to make a good size breeder tank. So I'm going to arm myself with some aqua silicone and......... Haven't a clue from there

When making an acrylic tank the preferred method for bonding and sealing is using a solvent (such as A can of WeldOn 4) to melt the seams together, it is much stronger and will in theory never need resealing.

Yes, I have heard that silicone doesn't adhere too well to acrylic.

I've done a fair bit of acrylic work on my own stuff. I can tell you without question that you do not want to try silicone for your project. It will not end well.

There are many resources out there, the one that helped me the most is Melevsreef.com | Acrylic Sumps & Refugiums

Take a look at the info on that page, I think you will find what you need.
